Kerry Washington's husband Nnamdi Asomugha has received some bad news. The 32-year-old NFL cornerback was waived by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, Nov. 4.

ESPN reports that cornerback Eric Wright will take Asomugha's place after coming off the non-football injury list. According to the 49ers' website, Asomugha signed a one-year contract with the team in April after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012. Asomugha played in three games and recorded three tackles and two passes defensed with the team.

While his professional life may have just had a setback, Asomugha has a lot to look forward to in his personal life. Us Weekly exclusively revealed last week that he is expecting his first child with wife Washington.
A source told Us at the time that the 36-year-old Scandal star is "about four months along." Washington and Asomugha secretly married in June in Hailey, Idaho after dating for one year.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, the actress kept mum about her pregnancy while hosting Saturday Night Live. During her opening monologue, Washington hid her baby bump under a loose-fitting black dress.
